This Privacy Policy and Data Use Statement governs how Settled Ground, Inc. collects, uses, and protects information from website visitors, applicants, and program participants.
Information collected.

From website visitors — standard analytics data for site improvement.

From applicants — information provided in the application, including organizational data, financial information, and narrative responses.

From participants — information provided during onboarding and program delivery, including organizational documents, financial records, and the institutional artifacts the participant authors.
How information is used.
Application data is used solely for selection review and program delivery. Participant data is used for program delivery, outcome measurement, and aggregated reporting (with personally identifying information removed for aggregate reporting). Information is not sold or shared with third parties except as documented here.
Data sharing.
Information is shared only with: program staff under confidentiality obligations; AI tools approved per the AI Tool Approval Register and AI Use Disclosure (with categorical limits on data category); external evaluation partners under data-protection agreement; auditors and counsel under professional confidentiality.
Data retention.

Application data — retained for twenty-four months after application decision.

Participant data — retained for seven years after program completion to support outcome measurement and external review.

Data purged after retention periods unless legal obligation requires longer retention.
Participant rights.
Participants and applicants request access, correction, deletion, or export of their information. Requests are submitted to privacy@settledground.org and processed within thirty days.
